MRC eyes solar rooftop installations in Xentro Malls

MRC Allied Inc. is in talks with XRC Mall Developer Inc. to put up solar rooftops in the latter’s mall developments.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, MRC said it was authorized by its board to start negotiating with XRC to explore, develop and install Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems rooftops in Xentro Malls nationwide.

Xentro Malls are community malls in cities and municipalities around the Philippines, with major retail and food shops pas its major tenants.

MRC Allied is diversifying into the power sector with a target of hitting 1,000 megawatts of power from renewable and clean energy projects by 2022. It was originally a listed real estate company with assets in property and mining.
